Using a tray with your puppy training pads helps keep the pads neat and in place, and discourages your pup from chewing and dragging the pad around.Tips for Housetraining: Make sure your Petco Training Pad is always available to your puppy and away from his bed, food and water.Confine your puppy to a small area when you are unable to watch him and anticipate when he will need to urinate. As a general rule, your puppy will need to go when he wakes up, after he eats or drinks, after playing and before going to sleep.Pay attention to your puppy's behavior and signs that he needs to go. Common signs include sniffing, circling and squatting. When you first notice these signs, immediately take your puppy to the taining pad and allow him to relieve himself. Praise him enthusiastically whenever he goes on the pad.Accidents may happen during the housetraining process. Expect and be prepared by removing all traces of resulting odor, as they will stimulate your puppy to relieve himself in the same spot.
