Recognize the signs that show if your dog is suffering from arthritis.
- Stiffness of any leg or hindquarters - especially when the dog is first rising from sleeping. They often warm out of it as they move around.
- Slowing down. It hurts to move, so arthritic dogs often sleep more and lose their desire to run, play or even go for walks.
- Yelping when touched.
- Swelling around a joint.
- Avoiding stairs and jumping onto furniture.
- Favoring a leg or limping on it.
