Could Your Dog Have Arthritis?

Recognize the signs that show if your dog is suffering from arthritis.

  1. Stiffness of any leg or hindquarters - especially when the dog is first rising from sleeping. They often warm out of it as they move around.

  2. Slowing down. It hurts to move, so arthritic dogs often sleep more and lose their desire to run, play or even go for walks.

  3. Yelping when touched.

  4. Swelling around a joint.

  5. Avoiding stairs and jumping onto furniture.

  6. Favoring a leg or limping on it.

This is my first time looking at your site but I have began fostering an elderly dog of 9 yrs old that is having a terrible time. She has arthritis, I assume, and would like to find out what i can give her to relieve her discomfort.hopefully you can give me some pointers.
