When I attended veterinary school little more than a decade ago, animal behavior was not yet considered a formal part of the practice of veterinary medicine. What a difference a decade makes. There is now a board of certification for those veterinarians who wish to specialize in diagnosing and treating pet behavior problems, and veterinarians recognize that caring for a dogs behavioral health is just as important as caring for his physical health. If your dog has a behavior problem that threatens to end your relationship with him, ask your veterinarian for help.
