This year, the Eukanuba World Challenge Finals will be held at the Amsterdam Winner Show, held by the Dutch Kennel Club, on December 13-14 in the Netherlands. For the past seven years it has been a special attraction event at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, and was held in Orlando, Fla., since 2011 and in Long Beach, Calif., before that.
Jose Luis Ibanez, Commercial Leader Eukanuba Breeder & Vet Business for Europe and EWC Show Chair, also released a statement Monday, saying, "The idea of bringing the EWC Finals to Europe has been discussed since the early years of the competition. In alignment with the AKC, FCI and TKC, it has been decided that now is the right time for such change. More details to follow soon.”
Jason Taylor, Assistant Show Chairman, AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, says, "Moving the World Challenge finals does not affect the ongoing plans for AKC/Eukanuba National Championship events. Planning for the 2014 AENC show in Orlando is well underway, and we’ll be releasing details about this year’s event in the coming weeks.”
This news comes in the wake of Eukanuba being sold to Mars Inc.
