Peter Green Show Dogs of the Year Hall of Fame
Peter Green is, quite simply, one of the most successful dog people ever. He is the only living person (and one of only two ever) to have won Best in Show at both Westminster, which he did four times, and Crufts. He has five times piloted a dog to the position of No.1 All Breeds in the U.S. – and that’s not counting a sixth win for a dog he imported, which was mostly shown by his partner, Beth Sweigart.
A two-time import from Great Britain (he moved over first in 1958, then permanently five years later), Peter is best known for Terriers, but has shown and won with almost all breeds, from Chihuahuas to Working and Sporting dogs.
After his retirement as a handler at Westminster 2006, Peter became an AKC-approved judge. He has already officiated overseas and will judge at the FCI World Show in Sweden in 2008 and Best in Show at Crufts in 2009.
