I have known Wendall Sammett since I was a teenager and a more wonderful person you could never know. His Poodles are the best in the world, and one of the finest will always give me the chills........I had the preasure of watching the great Ch. Alekai Aphrodite and Wendall while i was a teen. His dogs go back to the REAL GREATS IN THIS BREED........AND THE GREAT KENNELS. Carillion, Blakeen, Wycliffe, and his dogs ARE ALL SOUND OF STRUCTURE AND TEMPREMENT, AND ARE CORRECT TO THE STANDARD. Why can not more breeders be like him??????????????????

We picked up "Augie" at about 9-10 weeks after she was born on August 4, 1989 from Wendell Sammet. Augie was truly an amazing dog and a very important part of our lives and lived to be 18 years, 2 months and 4 days....Yes, that is not a typo....18 years + for a standard. Wendell had always stated he bred for health etc. and Augie was an astounding example of that. The people who took care of her at the NY Animal Medical Center (for the very few and minor health problems she encountered) told us that they had never heard of a standard living to that age. We were fortunate to have had her with us and have only the highest praise for Wendell, his breeding lines and the early development he provided till we picked her up.
We have since moved to Seattle and Augie has spoiled us so that we are still waiting to have another dog so that the new dog will not be in Augie's shadow.

Our beautiful, intelligent and darling Cesida will be four years old in August. Mr. Sammet's poodles exemplify all that is wonderful in the breed and we are indeed fortunate to have welcomed one of his puppies into our lives. Thank you and we wish you good health and contentment. mm and j merzon
