Dani and Becky, 12 and 9
Dogs: Allie, 8 months, and Chewy, 7 months, Saint Bernards
Their family already had dogs when Dani and Becky wanted to add three Saint Bernard puppies to the mix. "My mom and dad said we couldn't get Chewy," Becky said. "But I said, 'Please, please, please.'" Dani raided her savings account and the girls promised to care for the new dogs. However, Becky revealed their secret: "Getting down on my hands and knees and begging — that did it."
Renee, 6
Dog: Mary Kate, 11-month-old Chihuahua
As the nation saluted the taco-loving dog, Renee asked her parents for a Chihuahua of her own. "At first we thought that it might have been because of the Taco Bell craze," her mother Stacy said. "But Renee fell in love with these dogs and would keep going back to them at the dog shows." But who would watch the dog while school was in session? Patience was the answer: "I really wanted one," Renee said, "but Mommy and Daddy said I had to wait until the summer. So I did."
