For your puppy's safety and your own convenience, puppy should have at least two kinds of leads. A narrow six-foot leather or woven nylon leash is best for walks, puppy kindergarten classes and training sessions at home. The other type of lead is a retractable lead.
You must also have an array of safe toys for your Border Collie. During the teething period, you want your puppy's chewing energies to be focused on proper chew devices, not your shoes, table legs, etc.
