Pug Expert Advice

Trainer
“Pugs are intelligent, clever and eager to please, but even so, they don’t always choose to obey. The reason for this is obvious – Pugs simply don’t like to be told what to do. Pugs prefer to be invited.” – September B. Morn, professional dog trainer (from Popular Dogs: Pugs)

Veterinarian
“As the biggest dog in the Toy Group, Pugs, like several other breeds, are often subject to hip dysplasia. But studies indicate that in large breeds are switched to adult food at an earlier age, they are leaner and less likely to develop this condition.” – Christine Dresser, D.V.M., of Media, Ohio (from Popular Dogs: Pugs)

Groomer
“The important thing is to make sure you dry the wrinkles really well. Make sure you rinse this area, too, so nothing remains that can irritate the skin. I usually bathe my Pug every two to four weeks.” – Daryl Connor of Gone to The Dogs Grooming in Memphis, Tenn. (from Popular Dogs: Pugs)
