Thank Your Vet for a Healthy Pet Contest
Do you know an exceptional veterinarian who goes above and beyond the practice of medicine, displays compassion, and deserves recognition?
Enter him or her in the Thank Your Vet for a Healthy Pet Contest, co-sponsored by Hill's Pet Nutrition, the Morris Animal Foundation, and BowTie Inc., publisher of DOG FANCY and the DogChannel.
Nominees must be practicing veterinarians who exemplify the profession and personify why people become vets in the first place. Animals make our lives better, and because veterinarians take care of our animals, this contest will recognize those who provide care above and beyond the norm. These awards will recognize vets’ compassion, rather than their science.
HOW TO ENTER
You may nominate your dog’s veterinarian by writing an essay no longer than 300 words. Be sure to address four areas: 1) the veterinarian's outstanding care and treatment to clients, 2) commitment to the human-animal bond, 3) service to the community, and 4) devotion to the veterinary profession.
Send the essay along with contact information for you and your vet to Morris Animal Foundation, Thank Your Vet Contest, 10200 E. Girard Ave., Ste. B430, Denver, CO 80206.
You can also enter at www.thankyourvet.org
Deadline for entries is August 31, 2009
One national winner and five regional winners will be selected by a panel of judges. Winners will be contacted by Nov. 1, 2009, and will be honored before their peers at the January 2010 North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando, Fla. Winners will be featured in the January 2010 issues of Veterinary Practice News, DOG FANCY, and CAT FANCY magazines. All nominees will receive a nomination certificate.
Contact information for veterinarians nominated, as well as nominators, will be supplied to all sponsors.
Entries become the property of BowTie Inc., Hill's Pet Nutrition, and Morris Animal Foundation, which reserve the right, without further consideration, to use entries in any publication, media, and related promotions. The companies cannot confirm receipt or return entries. By entering, you agree that your essay, name, city and state may be published in DOG FANCY magazine and may be posted on DogChannel.com
