Researchers Publish Dog Genome Book
Book coincides with the publication of the genome sequence in the journal Nature.
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press has published The Dog and Its Genome, a book for dog owners that explores the canine health implications of the recently published dog genome sequence in the journal Nature.
The book contains chapters on breed clubs, canine history and origins, breed characteristics and morphology, genomics and genome organization, genetic disease and gene mapping, cancer, gene therapy and behavior.
It was edited by Elaine Ostrander, Ph.D., head of comparative genetics and chief of the cancer genetics branch for the National Human Genome Research Institute, and Kerstin Lindblad-Toh, PhD, co-director of the genome sequencing and analysis program at the Broad Institute at MIT.
