my dog started dragging my dirty socks out of the hamper and hiding them in various places in our home two weeks ago, now he is marking the shower rug. it is just the two of us, i dont understand. i have never struck him in any way, occasionally i have had to scold him, yesterday when he marked the bathmatt i put him in the kennel for about 15 min. sofar he has marked 4 times and i am at home with him. i take him for a walk every 2 hours when i am home. it is kinda funny that he dont do this when i am at work. at wits end.

Actually... a new study was done that says if you neuter your dog before 6 months of age, than it will not eliminate some of the problems associated with males, like marking or humping... my dog was neutered at 2 months and he still marks in the house and humps on my female dog(spayed). But then again, this dog is 3 years old! So he is not likely to have that many problems. I think it's a good idea to spray calming pheromones in the house.

I have a different problem. My dog is 4 ys. old a miniature pom. He began urinating in the house about 2 ys. ago. Lifts his leg on furniture, and anywhere he wants....especially when left alone or when I travel and leave him with my spouse. Any ideas? Thanks
