i adopted a chichuauhia from a young family with a long hair and short hair as a young dog.10 mo old. they had not fed her properly since they were not home much. she was healthy tho some thin. now a year later as a older owner where she runs the apt community she and two other singles spoil her along with myself. she looks to b put to sleep by my neighbor and spends little time alone. the neighbors entertain her while i attend the grandsons school ball games and babysit them and their lovable lab which is so big he wags his tail and knocks you over so i cant take my little one so he dont step on her.

I have a little chihuahua named "Little Bit" and my son has one named "Little Buddy". They love to play together and are very protective of their owners. I will say, that when the Federal Express man comes around, they know now to watch out. Both dogs come out and will attack if we are not careful. I have always loved this breed and have had many chihuahua's, during my 52 years. I always go back to this breed for the loyalty and love they give. These are my "Little Babies".

I have 2 Chihuahuas and you forgot to mention tht they are little chompers. They are very protective and will also bite their owners. My 2 will take a chomp at almost any time. But I still love them and would not trade them for any other dog.

all dog breeds have gentic issues. i wish more had been listed for this wonderful dog breed.I lost my daisy to heart disease(MVR)at age 9. TINY DOGS MUST BE TREATED AS BABIES. I PLAN ON GETTING ANOTHER LITTLE GIRL. never never leave a chihauhua alone and unprotected.

Too basic, not enough in this article. No mention of health issues, ease of injury specifics (like dropping or squeezing) no mention of diet issues, like too many treats and human food. Come on, you actually repeat the crap about chihuahuas being like babies. That is not helpful.
