We are very much a husky family and we usually have two or three living with us. The two boys we have now have a strong prey drive and we have witnessed them hunting birds in our yard in the same way the huskys in Eight Below hunted gulls; however ours aren't hungry so they bury them in the snow and we find them in the Spring. Couple of years ago we were on one of our many camping trips. In the middle of the night something woke us and we realized Thor, our three year old was missing and the tent door was open. Well, we thought someone had stolen him as we slept so we called police and began to search the park. All of a sudden Thor showed up at our site happy as any husky that had just been on an adventure. Things calmed down, we got back into our beds and began to doze off. The tent began to shake like crazy and we found that Thorbie had the door zipper in his mouth and was getting set to wander again. Thereafter we always zip the tent door so that the zipper is closed at the top.

Two members of our family are Siberian Huskys. Our male, Timber, is laid back and has no urge to leave the premises. He is large for the breed and does resemble a wolf. He is just a pussy cat and loves people, kids and other dogs. However, our female, Cache', is our escape artist. She has kept us mostly busy with her ingenious ways to 'dig' her way out of the yard. Numerous times we have had to get into the car and golook for her in the middle of the night. She always comes home, however, she is not "street wise" when it comes to cars. We are always afraid that she might be found on the side of the road one day. Luckily, she has not figured a way out of the yard for about 6 months now. She keeps us busy!!! We love them both and they are very loving and loyal. Fur under the table for sure, but they are worth it.
