This article was very informative and helpful since I have a hyper little pomeranian who demands my attention at the wrong time. Will try this method of training to stop her from barking so much. Thank you

What to do?? ~~When a Shealte barks to protect the home more then necessary, in order to prove we don't need the new Leonburger? Other then the jealousy of the new dog and confusion as to why he won't "go Home" Shealte is purrfect! Yes they are fine on daily long walks and runs...

Wish I had known this when I got my "teacup" Yorkie a year ago. She barks all the time, even when I have tried for months to ignore the barking or try to redirect her attention. I've had a Yorkie before and he never barked like this one.

Cynthia- Your dog's aggressive barking should be stopped before it goes to another level. There are many dog training books from the library that could help you correct this behavior. It will be worth your time.

In my opinion a dog or puppy (whichever) needs to bark to communicate their needs, go out to pee, or they are hungry, or they need some attention. However I am very opposed to exessive barking for no reason. That should not be allowed or tolorated.

I have a havanese and a maltese who bark at the doorbell, people walking by, cars driving by. This is in my house and while out in the car. We cannot go to pharmacy drive-ins, food driveins or park next to a personbecause they bark agressively at the person. Do you have any answers for this behavior?

I have a toy male white and apricot poodle. He also barks for the attention and also for the toy to be thrown to him. I will have to use the sit command and see how that works, and for the jumping up on you. He already knows the sit command, but when he has that energy built up he doesn't do the sitting very easily. thanks for the suggestion on what I can do.
