Our daughter had 3 healthy 4 month old springer spaniel pups and bought a bag of Purina Puppy Chow last Sat., 11/17/2012. By Mon. all 3 were sick but one was worse than the others so she took it to the Vet. The vet could not find anything wrong after $450 of tests. One wasn't very sick and is OK now as well as the one taken to the vet. The 3rd one seemed to be doing better yesterday but died last night. This was the bag with the red morsels in it. I know of other pups that have gotten sick after being fed this food. One other pup died that I know of. That vet said it was the dog food.

I have 3 Pomerians and put them on Beneful based on there rating on tv. My smallest one, who's been kinda sickly most of her life and she recently got pancreatitus and passed. She's always been a very loving dog and I spent days and about $1000 to save her and she died within 5 days. My dogs have been itching horribly and after seeing the recent articles I will never buy this horrible product again.

I haven't heard anything about Purina One puppy food beiing recalled but after just purchasing a bag of Healthy puppy every dog and pup I fed it to came down very sick. The dogs that have not eaten it are still fine so I dont think its viral. All the dogs are vaccinated as well.

I JUST HEARD TODAY ABOUT THE PURINA
RECALL,
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE PURINA ONE CANNED ADULT
GROUND
DOG FOOD WAS
RECALLED?
I JUST BOUGHT A COUPLE OF CANS A WEEK AGO FOR MY TWO DOGS, I DID NOT SEE WHEAT GLUTEN LISTED ON THE CAN

ALTHOUGH I MIGHT THROW WHAT I HAVE LEFT AWAY.

3 of my dogs got sick on Beneful Healthy Weight. My small dog got an infected pancreas. Now, I have a huge vet bill. How do I contact Purina? I threw away the bag. I bought the food on September 5, 2011.

My dogs have been eating purina one for years. I can not get them to eat the last big bag I bought. I haven't noticed them getting sick. They eat the small amount of wet food I give them in the a.m. just fine. I was reading up to see if there was a recall. I guess not. The artical was helpful, but I still don't know what to do. I don't want to buy another bag if they won't eat it either. I have to do something. They are hungry!

I guess this is not about the article itself but it's about dog food! the last bag i bought of Beneful is BAD. I called the 800 number to report what i found. the lady told me that the bag had some type of insect that ate the dog food. she also said that they would eat it and die. but guess what! that is not true. i put the food in a crock and covered it. within 3 hrs the whole crock was covered with these small red what ever they
are
then i put it in the garbage can in the garage and two hours later the inside of this can was covered with this red stuff. so i got the hilex jug out and washed everything that came in contact with the dog food, including myself.

my opinion: ALL Beneful product (dry) should be removed from the shelves. i'm also afraid that my dog may have eaten some of this and could possible have an internal problem. you really have to do something about this. i will not be purchasing anymore Beneful for my dog. but if there is a problem I WILL LET YOU KNOW!!!

I am very upset about this mess with the dog food
industry
I am glad to see all you have
written
thanks for all the info given out

we have farms here ...get the products you need here in our country (told the companies this
also)
I look at every "thing" I buy for all 8 of my
doggies
these are all rescued dogs and I would absolutely hate to feed them something that would make them
sick
I would cook for them however since I have so many and I am disabled and don't even cook for myself that was a no brainer for me CANNOT DO
IT...
I have called all the dog food companies to see which I will stick with and which ones are out of
here
thanks for all your concern

I'm very upset over all the recalls. I know my dogs have eaten the ol roy beef sticks but who keeps the containers? Now I have to wait and see what happens. I just want to know, why haven't the products the companies buy from another country been tested before we feed it to our pets?
