What about when you have to leave your dog outside? Last night I was coming home from a day in the mountains and didn't get home until about 9 pm.

I always stay home with my pets, and this year will be no different! We just got a new 8 week old kitten, so we'll see how he reacts. We also have a 16yr old cat, a 12 year old dog and a 1-1/2 year old puppy, so hopefully I can keep them occupied with different toys so they won't be scared or nervous.

Good advice. My dogs are sound-sensitive so I have to watch especially since the noise starts early in the day not just at night.

Good ideas! Although my dog doesn't seem to be bothered by fireworks, I've heard alot of dogs who are terrified of them!

Thank-you for always putting on your site safety tips for animals for most every occasion/outing. I know that it has been a tremendous help to me and I appreciate the reminders.

That's good advice. I don't have a dog that is afraid of fireworks, but if I did than I would definitely use that information.
