I think it's a great idea! I have 3 cats and a dog... We live in an area that get hit with hurricanes. After hurricane Irene there were so many animals running lose. Having this will help find there owners again. Great idea!

i think its a good idea to give cats free collars because most people have similar cats and cant tell which is which untill they take the wrong one and they realize they made a mistake.

I wouldn't buy one. First off, it requires having a computer in order to get the information. I want a tag that gives my contact information at first glance and doesn't have to be taken off the dog to be used.

Secondly as others said, the collar/tag can fall off or be removed. Collars are also dangerous. I only use a collar with tag when I'm travelling or my dogs are left outside alone and in those situations I use a breakaway collar for safety.

A Tatoo or microchip properly registered is the best security. But it also needs to be used with an attentive owner who makes sure his dog is secure at all times and who acts ASAP if the dog does end up missing.

Sounds interesting but much more easily lost then a mircochip. That is my biggest concern, someone can take the collar off and toss it then what?? My dog was lost and the people who found her had every intention in keeping her until they took her to our nearby PetSmart where they recognized her due to being groomed and taking classes there. The store called me and stalled the people. The one thing I hd to back me ws her microchip! What if I would have gone with this collar????????

This is a fantastic idea. The only thing better about the actual microschip is that if a dog get's lost without his collar on, the microchip is always there. I would love to see colors with GPS tracking, like the ones that have for children.
