I think it is not the brightest idea to ban breeds of dogs. I know plenty of pit bulls that are the sweetest dogs. Along with Rottweilers and Dobermans

Rottweilers, Doberman Pinchers, and Pit Bulls can all be very sweet dogs! They just need to be careful whos hand the dogs get in. How can you expect a dog to be a good pet when he's been trained to fight?

I agree, people don't need to ban the dog breeds, but maby the government should make a system to where you should have a license to own the breed and you can't just pay, but be qualified

blame the deed not the breed. dogs become aggressive because of people

No, I take that back, people are working to improve the pit bull and they shouldn't ban them either! Many pits are very sweet!

This is insane. Pit bulls, I could understand, but Dobes and Rotties? NO WAY!!! They are getting better and better disposition, and as long as they end up in the right hands they are great dogs. We used to raise Rotties and we had a Dobe that was just the sweetest and was VERY obedient. She was wary of strangers, protecting my grandma just in case, but never attacking or biting them because she knew my grandma didn't want her to. I accidentally stepped on one of our Rottie's paws when I was very young, but she didn't even growl, she just screeched from the pain like any dog would, and it was an honest accident. Pits need to be VERY closely supervised but still, I do NOT support breed bans. They are wrong and unfair. Not every dog is the way the breed is said to be. We all need to fight breed bans.

Breed Specific Ban? Are these people nuts? When you start on one breed, somebody else has a bone (ha ah) to pick with another and thus that breed is targeted. The Insurance Industry already has a list of "most dangerous dogs" and you cannot get homewowners insurance from some of these companies if you own "that" dog; or if they give the insurance to you, it is at a much higher cost because you are a "higher risk"; some of the dogs included on the insurance company lists include Rottweilers, Akitas, Pit Bulls, - I bellieve there is a total of 10 dogs on the list. Honestly, there are no bad dogs, just bad owners; As dog owners and/or dog breeders, we CANNOT permit BSL legislation to happen. It will hurt all of us in the long run.

we all need to fight these types of bans, even if our dog wouldn't be impacted. the next law might impact them greatly.
