I am glad that they are not just focusing on the number of animals kept but the conditions and care the animals are receiving as well. I've had up to eleven dogs and five cats at a time ( pets) , but I ,of course , had a spacious, clean house for them , took each one to the vet a minimum of once a year, gave them expensive premium food, exercised them ,trained them , and took them on trips. I believe that as long as you have a large clean house and yard , money for annual vet visits( and more in case of an emergency), and the animals are being properly cared for and not being bred, that you should have as many as you want.

It's about time.I have a neighbor who owns so may cats she can't count them. She cannot afford to have them spayed or given their shots.Their quality of life is terrible.Unfortunately in the state of Illinois, there are no laws against this as long as the animals are fed. It's nice to see something is being done to prevent this.
