The practice I am manager of used proheart almost exclusively when it came out the first time with no adverse reactions at all. Seemed strange to get the packet from novartis stating proheart being pulled before the company even let us know. Would be #1 heartworm prevention in this hospital now if it wasn't for the restrictions.

Proheart will kill dogs, and I have seen that happen in practice. Don't kid yourselves about this. The reason it might be used again is that some argue that it saves more lives than it kills since so many people forget to give the monthly pills.

I USED PROHEART WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND AM USING IT AGAIN, I THINK IT IS A GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE OWNER AND THE PET. I HOPE ITS RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED AND MORE CAN BENEFIT FROM IT THEN 1-7 YR
OLDS
I NEVER HAD A REACTION BEFORE NOR HAVE I HAD ANY NOW, I TRULY BELIEVE SOMEONE LINED THEIR POCKETS FOR THE RECALL.....

I have used proheart since it originally came out and have never had a reaction to it. I give it to my own dogs and client and have several dogs that have not been on heartworm preventive since it was taken off. They have not started back on it because of the restrictions. I would like to see it back on the market unrestricted. I think it was a political problem much more than a safety issue. It got into competetors pocketbooks.

I used Pro Heart 6 whenit came out the first time. I use Pro Heart 6 now. I did not have any reactions then and have not had any reactions this time. I raise coonhounds, and use it on all my personal dogs. I have given Pro Heart 6 injections to many many at coon hunts in NC with no adverse reaction. I am so very glad the product is back. Compliance is so much easier to achieve.

We have been using Pro Heart since it came back on the market and have experienced no side affects. Compliance is a major problem in this heavly infected area.
