My sister has 2 dogs who died at the age of 10 from diabetes which set on so bad it could not be controlled. Was there anything that could have caused it? She switched their brand of natural foods often and I who bred them have kept my dogs on the same food for years. I have no dogs with diabetes. Her vet told her it is genetic. Please help I do not want to continue breeding if there is no test for it.

We've lived through dog diabetes with our beautiful yellow lab, Ginger. We managed with raw diet and insulin for many years. When Ginger also developed hemangiosarcoma, we were devastated. Cancer is a leading cause of death in dogs. However, with natural supplements, detox and energy healing Reiki, we were able to enjoy her to old age (14 years), cancer free and diabetes reversing. Her story is found on

There is much we can do for prevention of diabetes and cancer, as well as implementing natural solutions for a healthy life.
