I make venison jerky for my dog as a special treat and she loves it.

You can skip coating the chicken in oil by spraying your dehydrator trays with non-stick cooking spray (ie Pam). When I didn't have a dehydrator, I used a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, and cooked it for 4 hours at 250F. Also, no matter which method you use, if you freeze the chicken for an hour first, it makes for much easier slicing. Woof!

i would love to try this reciepe but he FDA suggests cooking chicken to 165 degrees before dehydrating. My dehydrators highest temp is 160. I dont want to make my dog sick.

Unfortunately, I don't have a food dehydrator. But there are chicken jerky brands out there that are trustworthy. Dogswell and Zukes, to name a few.
