This year, the Eukanuba World Challenge Finals will be held at the Amsterdam Winner Show, held by the Dutch Kennel Club, on December 13-14 in the Netherlands. For the past seven years it has been a special attraction event at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, and was held in Orlando, Fla., since 2011 and in Long Beach, Calif., before that.

Jose Luis Ibanez, Commercial Leader Eukanuba Breeder & Vet Business for Europe and EWC Show Chair, also released a statement Monday, saying, "The idea of bringing the EWC Finals to Europe has been discussed since the early years of the competition. In alignment with the AKC, FCI and TKC, it has been decided that now is the right time for such change. More details to follow soon.”

Jason Taylor, Assistant Show Chairman, AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, says, "Moving the World Challenge finals does not affect the ongoing plans for AKC/Eukanuba National Championship events. Planning for the 2014 AENC show in Orlando is well underway, and we’ll be releasing details about this year’s event in the coming weeks.”

This news comes in the wake of Eukanuba being sold to Mars Inc.

I think it's a very bad descision to move this to Europe. The idea that Eukanuba had so much PR about this show being in Orlando was the great change for most competitors to come to US and that this was connected to the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship event where on also had the chance to compete in US .For all of us living in Europe and in the east countries this is not the optimal change. I think it's not very exciting anymore. Iwas with my dog wire foxterrier competing for Sweden in 2012 and it was once in a lifetime to travel with my dog to Orlando. It wouldn't have been the soma if it had been treveling to *Amsterdam where I can go much more easy whenever I wish. I hope that as EWC is very appriciated as what it was will think this over again and move it back to Orlando from 2015 and let it stay there.
