Paula Pascoe, Contributing Writer
Dogs in Review Magazine
Paula Pascoe has owned and shown Scottish Deerhounds since 1972, and has bred them since 1976 under her Lehigh prefix. She is still active as a breeder and owner-handler, and lives in Michigan with her husband, Grant Winchell, who she met at a dog show. Paula has bred and shown several of her dogs to all-breed BIS wins, and has had six different National Specialty BIS winners. There are currently nine Deerhounds living at her home.
Paula has a BS degree in English. She started keeping statistics and writing for dog publications more than 30 years ago, as a natural extension of her passion for the world of purebred dogs. She was a contributor to Dogs in Review from the very first issue. She has also been involved as a contributor to Poodle Variety, Afghan Hound Review and (the no longer extant) Sighthound Review. Paula has also been a regular contributor to the Scottish Deerhound Club of America’s newsletter, “The Claymore,” for over 30 years.
