♥ Sheba ♥ Hey there, Daisy Mae! I am still trying to find my way around DC. I am keeping Mom so busy and she is getting so tired! BOL! I just want to play and play and play! The other afternoon we were all outside and I decided to run while I was still on the leash. Well...I yanked the leash out of Mom's hand, hurting her little finger and she fell on the ground really hard! She was hurting, but I didn't mean it. Good thing our friend was here. He stopped me and helped Mom back up. She was sore for days! I just am so happy to have such a big yard that I wanted to run and play. I hope that some day I can gain Mom's trust and be able to be off the leash. Mom really wants to put a fence behind the house, but doesn't think she can afford it right now. It sure would be nice! It's with a very broken heart that I am finally finding the strength to write this. We had to let our beautiful girl Destiny go to heaven yesterday evening. On Wednesday she started acting like she needed to poop but she could not get anything out. I thought she was just constipated but this went on all day. She already had an appointment scheduled for Thursday for her midyear exam with Dr. Mike. They did x-rays on her & found a large mass on top of her colon. The mass was the size of a baseball & it was pushing on the colon so that is why she felt like she needed to poop. Without the surgery the mass would keep anything from coming out of the colon. The mass grow very fast because it was not there when they did the ultra sound & x-rays in November. I left her at the clinic so they could do a biopsy & so Dr. Mike could call & talk to the surgeon. The surgeon said he could do the surgery but it was very major surgery and she would probably lose quality of life if she even made it through the surgery because it was such a high risk surgery. Also there was a good chance it would come back so we decided it was time to let her go. He called me to let me know it was cancer & I asked him if he thought it was the best decision and he said yes. Dr. Mike loves Destiny & he has been her vet all of her life & he is the kind of vet that will try everything possible to save the pet. He has even made people angry with him because he would not euthanize their pet because there was still hope of saving them. Until Wednesday we did not even know anything was wrong with her.
