Melian (In Memory of Tiny) How are you doing? I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful day with lots of good food and good company. I wanted to stop by on the day before and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving but the DC was down! ;( __________________________________________________________________________________ And then I wanted to stop by on the day itself but we were too busy stuffing ourselves with stuffing. And then Friday my kitty brother won cotd. And then the weekend we were eating again, and so on…. Every day I told mama I wanted to blog but we didn't get a chance! __________________________________________________________________________________ And yet again we are burning the midnight oil as I finally persuaded mama that enough was enough. I didn't want to wait any longer! How was your celebration? Do you have all your Christmas stuff up yet? __________________________________________________________________________________ Can you believe that December starts tomorrow? This year has flown by. It's pouring rain here which I'm not too happy about. Mama was happy until she had to go out in it and feed the horses. She came back wet, dirty, and frustrated. hehe I did NOT help her. Melian (In Memory of Tiny) How are you doing? Hey, remember me? It's been a really, really long time since I kept up with blogging on here. Actually, ever since the new and unimproved DC changes took place. I keep hoping (silly me) that things will get better, and a few things have been fixed, but I need to stop hoping in vain and just get my act together. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ So, I booted mama off the computer and have taken over tonight. I do apologize for the partial c/p but I have blogs dating all the way back to April. Oops, did you faint? Sorry! ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I'm not going to bother trying to write about everything that's happened over the past busy few months. I thought I'd just concentrate on an important event that happened a couple of weeks ago. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Well, we had a saluki convention! 10 salukis brought their humans and we had a blast. I'm a bit nervous around strange big dogs but salukis don't move and behave quite like "normal" dogs and I was much better around them than anyone, including me, expected. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ However, we took everyone to a large open field where we did lure-coursing. A couple of the large males decided that I was fun to tease. They started to chase me and the whole pack joined it. I high-tailed it out of there as fast as I could. The field was perhaps a mile long. haha They couldn't even begin to keep up with me! Within seconds I had a substantial lead. By the time I reached the end of the field they had hardly reached the centre. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All of their owners just looked on open-mouthed in awe. They couldn't believe how fast I am! Hey, it's all those miles I go running almost every day. I'm fit and I'm Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaast! I think perhaps I'm the fastest dog in the world. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ And the best part? Mama had been telling me for weeks, "Now Melian, you think you're so fast and no other dog has ever caught you. Just wait till you meet these salukis. You'll be in for a surprise when you can't get away." hehe I showed her, didn't I? I think mama's mouth was the openest of all of them. And she is very proud of me. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ On that happy note I'm going to end this blog. Harley, Thanks Keshia for vote #6800! Hi Zack, Well mom didn't get home till 8pm last night. An hour after our usual dinner time. And of course, don't you know it, what a wind and rain storm when mom got to the farm. She waited it out for a while in the truck! Poor mom, all alone in the truck during that storm, while I was in a nice warm house! Mom got in finally changed her cloths and feed me and the horses. Mom said that she was sorry for being late, but they hadn't even cut the cake yet! Oh No, no cake! Well, she made up for not being with me all afternoon and half the night, we took a nice long nap after feeding this morning. It was great to be with mom, just me and mom! Labby Hugs, Harley PS, after going to my page and voting, just page down to My Yard and leave blogs there. Mom doesn't really look at the Kennel page much anymore! R&R- Happy Mother's Day Mom <3 U Hi Zack Long time no bark. Was wondering if maybe you had left for good. Harley told Dani you were arond still so thought we'd drop in and say Hi. Hows the turkey business going? Mom has been getting ours from a surplus store for the turkey farm in SD. It is about a third of the coast of what she has been paying. Best of all it is all cooked & sliced. Really hot here this summer. Not much rain either. It has been a struggle to keep the gardens going, Mom will be watering again as soon as it is light. Have a nice wekend

Harley, Thanks Keshia for vote #6800! HI Zack, We missed ya. Well, mom's home from her tests at the hospital. She went right to riding the horses before it got to hot in the indoor. Then we all got baths. Mom said it was easier to give an 1100 pound horse a bath than me. I shimmy and shake all over her, she's just as wet as I am! BOL!!! Then we hung out outside so that I could dry off, of course a few good shoulder rolls in the grass were in order! Mom's like, REALLY! You just got all cleaned up and now you're looking to be smelly again! BOL! Yep Mom! Labby Hugs, Harley.

Zack Hi everyone, we have not been over to visit lately, very busy at work and our horse Royal Mes, had foot surgery. He is doing OK. Just dropped in to say hey and miss you all. Trying to find our points, we redemmed some and have not received our merchandise??? Hope we can find them.

Melian (In Memory of Tiny) I was just reading your comment on Pippin's page about DC. It's a bit better now but still has a long way to go. It's taking them WAAAAAAAy too long to fix things. Soon it will be 3 months! Catching up on HC right now. I haven't even dared to try catching up on here. The way it's set up right now I would have to open around 70 (yes, that's 70!) pages to answer all my blogs. Leaving a vote for you!

Harley, Thanks Keshia for vote #6800! Hi Zack, we know what you mean. But my mom is finding it easier to just vote and then scroll down and leave a message in the My Posts, My Yard right under where you just voted. And then everythings on one page when you want to respond to you're doggie buddies. Mom said she had a lot of fun yesterday at the Gun Club. Meet some nice ladies to shoot with and got to even shoot a high powered rifle for the first time. She was 5 for 5 in the bullseye! Way to go Mom! They did close the Range down early due to a storm, thunder and lightning and holding guns don't mix well. So they are going to have the Ladies Day resume again in Sept. Mom can't wait. So mom got home by dinner time for me and the horses, but was tired, so we just couched it out. Harley.

Harley, Thanks Keshia for vote #6800! Hi Zack, How's that agility going? Well we had some light rain yesterday morning and the temps really never made it about 75. Quite a change from the day before with a heat index of 104! Now today it raining and supposed to all day long with a high of, are you ready, only about 70 degrees. Go figure, first I'm melting my fur off, now I'm trying to glue it back on to stay warm! BOL! Mom's going to enjoy riding today she said. Of course she'll be in the indoor arena and won't need the fans today, just the lights, it's really dreay out! And then I'll go down later and we'll play in there, I like that place, nice and big and soft on the paws! Harley.

Harley, Thanks Keshia for vote #6800! Hi Zack, They really messed up this time. Now they screwed Chewie out of his DOTM badge and honors. He had it paws down and up and they didn't give it to him. Shame on them! Still hot weather out here on the east coast. Mom rode early yesterday and will ride in a little while again. Then hose the horses off, maybe I'll get the sprinkle going for me. No mowing, it's all drying up and if mom cuts the pastures they will burn up and not be good for grazing. So she has one less job for now to do. BOL! Means more Harley and mom time. I love that! Very bad drought situation here. Our town even cancelled the fireworks celebration they always have. My DOTM run is almost over to day and tomorrow and that's it! Can you believe it? ~Bella-the Husky~ Hi Zack and Donna LeeWe haven't gotten around to blogging the last few days so we'll try and fill you in on what's been going on with us. Well first off I have a pic of myself entered in a contest to be in a calendar for therapy pets with about 400 hundred other therapy pets. Not sure when the winners will be announced. We had several fruit trees in our back yard but no fruit on them but the orange tree has a birds nest in it with 2 eggs which are green and brown it's been fun keeping a watch on the nest when the mom bird flies away to see if the eggs have hatched. For the last few days our temps haven't hit 80 degrees b/c of cloud cover and rain. Sure won't complain about that. The weekend is suppose to be cloudy and rainy too.Will try to be back to say hi again in a few days.Hope all is good with you and your family. Take care my friends. Husky Hugs, Bella and Sue,
