Hi Franki
Okay, Here Goes! My first day of my DOTM run! First, thanks to everyone for your friendship and for any and all votes during this run. I appreciate each and every one of you.
Now, For the topic I promised you.....
~~ The BEST Dog Movies You May Not Be Watching ~~
The first of my recommended movies is Walt Disney's Iron Will. It's based on an incredible true-life story and stars Mackenzie Astin as a young man thrust into adulthood when he races his team of sled dogs in a grueling and treacherous cross-country marathon, hoping to win the $10,000 grand prize that can save his family from financial ruin. It's Entertaining, Inspirational and Captivating. This is a movie you won't want to miss! It also stars Kevin Spacey, David Ogden Spears (MASH) and Brian Cox. Check it out, you will be glad you did!

Chewie decided to "run like the wind" a little too much and when he ignored both Mom and Dad when they called him he lost blogging priviledges for tonight! hehe so ya got me, instead!
My Mommy FINALLY sat down in her recliner and put her feet up! Marathon Shopping Day is draining! Chewie and I have to help them when they get home or it would do them in, trust me!
I have been trying to help Chewie get ready for his dotm run in June, kinda like a campaign manager.I think we got it under control now! I sure hope so. I got the typist lined up (that would be Mommy) and the speech/blog writer (also Mommy). I hired him a personal assistant (Mommy again)and a secretary (You guessed it, Mommy) to handle all inquiries and messages.
I have a lot of responsibility here getting these positions filled with the right people and overseeing each and every position in this organization. THAT should be a lot easier since they are all the same person! BOL! Easier for ME but not for HER!! That's okay, I run a tight ship but I am fair and understanding and I will remind her of just HOW UNDERSTANDING and generous a boss I was when we are back in the Mommy/Baby Girl roles and away from the Campaign Manager/"Lots O' Hats" ones. It could come in handy in the future.
I'll be pretty lax about starting time as long as it is soon after breakfast, she will be allowed all the coffee she wants, at the computer (the caffeine will be helpful here). She will get a generous lunch break, as long as she shares with me and as long as things are on schedule, supper breaks are negotiable! She will be allowed to sleep at night, as well. The position only runs for the duration of the campaign so she can do the piddly human things after the campaign. I of course, will be there, accessible 24/7 if she needs anything. I will be playing with toys, eating or taking a power nap while she is there with her nose to the grindstone.I will be moral support and she can wake me up or interupt my play or snack if she has any problems! hehehe Well, I've barked long enough for now so I'll let you go for now. Chewie said to say hi and he hopes you are well!

Hope you are well and hopefully you will get a chuckle here!
Tomorrow I will finally get some rest! It is what Mommy calls their Marathon Shopping Day. It is way too hot for us to go along so I will just chill at home with Maya and wait till thay get home and then it's back to work for me!
First Maya and I have to greet the returning prodigal pawrents. They of course will come bearing gifts. (Humans tend to have this overwhelming feeling of guilt for leaving us at home...can we work it, or what?) They will bring us treats or toys or something because we looked so pitiful when they left. Sometimes we don't even come say goodbye at the door we are so crushed and in danger of permanent psycological damage. After we accept, eat, run through the house with or put away for later the token from them, trying to once again earn forgiveness from the 2 poor little puppies they left all alone, we have to start bringing in the bounty!
There will be food, an occasional new release dvd, materials for dad's workshop projects from time to time, once in a while there will be clearance rack treasures and the all important prescriptions. All of these will not only have to be unloaded from the car but put away in the various places in the house where they belong. Remember now, my humans are tired from transferring the items from the store shelves to the cart, to the checkouts, & to the car so I will be needed in the worst way to keep running around them in circles, cracking that whip to keep them moving until they get that job done! I'm not called the slave driver for nothing ya know!
There is one more important thing on the Marathon Shopping Day agenda...the guilt driven playtime. I take advantage of the fact they are still a little uncertain if they have managed to make it up to us for the traumatic experience of going without us in the car or not, so I relentlessly keep bringing bouncy balls and squeaky toys and making Daddy play with me in spite of him being tired. Yes, it will be sweet getting even and we will all sleep good tomorrow night as we collapse from exhaustion!

It's me Maya!
I had to go to the doctor this morning. Yesterday afternoon I was acting really agitated and hyper and wanting out constantly only to frantically eat grass!I made myself throw up once with it. Later I developed a bit of a cough and acted as if something was stuck in my throat. This was all after chewing on those stupid Hartz dental bone chews me and Chewie love the day before! They are plastic, what Mommy calls "Bumpy Bones" because they have bumps all over the middle of the bone.Mommy couldn't find anything when she stuck her finger down there to feel, but I continued to cough periodically thru the night so Mommy called the vet this morning and took me in. I am still eating and finally went poop once yesterday in the evening. The doctor checked me over and didn't think there was anything stuck in my throat. Well me and Chewie really give those bones what for and sometimes eat some of that stupid plastic and it always poops out. The doctor thinks I probably scratched up my throat with the plastic and it may be not only sore but inflamed. She gave me a shot and two different pills for throwing up and for inflamation and I have to take them all. I feel better cause I am resting like I normally do instead of frantically pacing the floor. Mommy and Daddy threw away the chew bones and said no more, EVER! It was scary. Even Chewie didn't pester me he just would come over and smell me and whine! He really does care about me! We had to wait at the doctors office because a doggie had come in just before me that had been hit by a car. It didn't make it. Mommy said that is why she wants me and Chewie to come when she calls us! It was so sad and scary, too.Iam resting now and Chewie is guarding me so nothing happens to me. He is a good big brother. He said he is too busy watching over me to make sure I am okay to blog tonight so I am doing the blogging while he watches over me. (smiles) Nothing too funny has happened since everybody has been concerned and taking care of me since yesterday afternoon. I should be okay before too long!
Hope you have a nice weekend. We are just staying home so I can rest.

We actually wore out Mom and Dad! They both had to take little naps in the Living Room this afternoon. Daddy planted some stuff in the garden and ran over to check out a yard sale close by this morning.I sure don't understand why ANYBODYwould want to sell their yard.I guess they just sell little pieces of it with all the people that go to those things, which raises and even more perplexing question....why would anybody want to BUY a little piece of somebody elses yard? Yesterday I heard Mommy say they went to some yard sales and GARAGE sales...now how do you sell all those people your garage? Tomorrow morning they are going to a Rummage Sale. What the heck is a RUMMAGE?
If anybody knows what it is please let me know. I sure hope you don't have to feed it and if you do that it doesn't eat a lot! What is really strange about these things is, yesterday, Mommy and Daddy went to Garage and Yard Sales, and to a re-sale shop. They came home with a few things for the house and a game for the youngest niece and her half brother. How did they get those things instead of yards, garages and re-sales? If you go to a gift shop, you buy gifts, a flower shop you buy flowers, at a grocery store, you buy groceries.....I am soooo confused! Maya is sooooooo confused. Even our cousin Dexter who is MUCH older than us can't explain it. I think yard and garage sales and re-sale shops aren't the only places they went, myself. Maya and I are BOTH a little suspicious!
It's another hot day here! That's why Daddy quit working outside at lunchtime.He said it is a scorcher out there! No wonder that little bluebird is STILL trying to come in the house. It looks like he might be a little sunburned cause his front is a little bit red! I better go check on Daddy cause he hasn't moved on the couch for a while. I'm gonna borrow Mommy's hand mirror and go hold it under his nose and see if he steams it up. Cross your paws he does! Bark at ya later!
