MONTHLY PET TIPS:
Jan- Mark your calendars for when your animals are due for their annual checkup and vaccinations this year. It is also a good idea to get your dog & cat's teeth cleaned annually.
Feb- Chocolate can be deadly to animals. Be sure to keep your valentine sweets out of their reach.
Mar- This is the time of the year when mosquitoes start to hatch. Bee sure to keep your dog & cat on a heartworm preventative year round.
Apr- Easter is a time when people are tempted to give rabbits & chicks as gifts. Many of them end up living horrible, short lives. Give stuffed animals instead.
May- As summer approaches & vaccinations are planned, check to make sure your pet's I.D. is current in case you have to leave them in someone else's care while you are traveling. Update Micro chip registry information too.
June- Another Hurricane season is coming. Be sure to have a safe way to transport your pets & a place to take them in case you have to evacuate.
July- Fireworks can scare animals. Be sure to keep them somewhere safe when you & your neighbors celebrate Independence Day.
Aug- A summer outing on a lake or the ocean can be a lot of fun with your dog along. Be sure to outfit your dog with a life jacket in case fo an emergency.
Sept- The cold weather months are just around the corner. Protect your pets by keeping them inside & having a disaster plan in place for them in case you loose power for an extended period of time.
Oct- Halloween is a dangerous time for black cats. Cats should always eb kept indoors, but it is especially important around this holiday so no harm comes to them.
