How We Met?
I am Argos. My name was Jacobo and I was born and raised in Spain. I am a Galgo Espanol, also known as a Spanish Greyhound. But don't let the name fool you...I am not just a greyhound from Spain. Galgos are their own breed, cousins to the greyhound. My mommy and daddy like to call me the crazy cousin to my retired racing greyhound brothers! I came from a shelter in Spain called Scooby Medina. Galgo Rescue International Network (GRIN) was the group mommy and daddy got me through. http://www.galgorescue.org/
Galgos have a pretty bad life in Spain. We are used as hunting dogs and illegal race dogs in Spain and when our owners are done with us many get rid of us in cruel, inhumane ways. They are a little too intense to get into here but suffice it to say that Galgos are routinely hung from trees, dropped down wells, abandoned, and otherwise poorly "disposed of." The life and fate of the Galgo is very grim.
