The power of our Prayer Chain and the pictures and cards from FC members got Auntie Mindi out of a coma and then gave her the will and incentive to get better and live last year. Now we need prayers for Grandma to regain the eyesight she has lost and not lose her sight completely. Grandma has Macular Degeneration. There are blood vessels forming under the macula and they are bleeding. Her eye has a gray area in the middle she can't see. The doctor gave her several shots in her eye to hopefully stop the bleeding and said he doesn't know if when the blood is into the body how much if any of her sight she will get back. Mommy and Daddy have to take her back in a month. absorbed. Please pray for my grandma! Thank you cause I am worried about her eyesight! ~~ Hugs, Chewie and Maya, too ( and Mom Laurie ) ... Tomorrow ~1/11/13~ mom`s daughter goes in for a lithotripsy, she has a large kidney stone that has to come out before she can start chemo. She will have 20 weeks of chemo, then will have to wait a month before she can have the surgery so that the chemo is flushed from her body. Mom thinks she will opt for implants. She will start out with what they call spacers which when filled with saline will stretch the muscles and chest wall to accommodate the permanent implants. She will go in weekly to have the saline injected until she gets the size and shape she is comfortable with and once that is determined she will have the spacers in for three months before the permanent implants are put in. All together this whole procedure will take the better part of a year. This will be the last update until after chemo is completed. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers * * * * Forgot to mention chemo will start the week of the 21st and by week three she will loose her hair. Have a lot of friends helping her out & a few co-workers who stopped by her house and brought her tons of stuff for her & her dogs. . :•:•:•:•:•:•:•:•: Hi Riley!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support you have given me for my DOTM run. Thursday morning I had to rub my eyes and *blink blink blink* when I saw my very own face looking at me through the DOTD window. Mom and I were touched beyond words!! Because I haven't been able to be very active on DC lately, I didn't expect so many to remember me. Mom and I were very sorry not to be diligently sending messages throughout the first week of my run, and we felt really bad about it. We have been looking so forward to this for a long, long time, and we wanted to send thank-yous every day. But some things came up that Mommy had to take care of. Now Peaka keeps teasing me about how she started off her run last year, and how mom helped her blog every day from the start. But I guess I'll have to forgive them both :) It sure is embarrassing that on the 9th day of the month, I'm telling you what my "theme" is.......you're probably thinking, "What, 'Dogs going MIA?'"....BOL!!! But maybe my profile photo was a hint? Okay enough of that, (now Peaka's really sending me strange looks, hehe)....... I would like to take you on a tour of our favorite place in the world, our home state: Alaska!......The name conjures up adventure, raw natural beauty -- glaciers, mountains and seas, unmatched the world around -- fascinating wildlife, a unique cultural heritage, and independent, pioneering people. There are no roads in much of Alaska, so to really get out and see many of the "The Great Land"s special places, you need an airplane and an experienced pilot. That's why 1 in 68 people in Alaska do exactly that....fly airplanes! And we are proud that our very own daddy is a pilot :) Having a plane of your own enables you to do a lot of cool stuff! But airplanes in AK aren't just fun and games. Many off-road villages located in Alaska completely depend on the pilots for delivery of food, fuel, and other necessities for every day life.
