How We Met?
We lived in a bad part of Kansas City and when we weren't looking, people were stealing things right out of our yard! We were on a mission to buy a doberman when a friend of mine offered her 4 month old Rott puppy, for free. We just needed her to "LOOK" like a rottweiler and that's about as close to the reputation she's ever gotten! She adores people, her family, other dogs and all our cats. Kota has been with us 11 yrs and has never even acted like she would harm someone. However, I know in my heart that she, like all our dogs, would gladly lay down her life if she had to. And yes, just looking like a Rott is all it took...never had anything stolen since!
She had one litter of un-planned puppies once. Daddy was purebred St Bernard!! We had hoped that we would have St Bernard sized Rottweillers and planned to keep just one. However, all came out looking like the bernard. The one we kept, we named mufassah, shared 7 yrs with us before passing away. Kota has out lived her son, but we all miss him very much. She is a wonderful dog and we couldn't of asked for better!
