If you disagree or if I have forgotten something I would love to hear from you.
Unfortunately, there is no magic button you can push so a computer spews out "Good Breeder" information on demand. All the above information is difficult, sometimes impossible, to find, but we here in the Dogs in Review office are constantly trying to find the "good breeders" in all the more than 150 AKC registerable breeds. It's not an easy job, but we'll keep you informed and would appreciate any help we can get.
Having said this, let's admit that AKC did a great job in finding the nominees for their "Breeder of the Year" award. Congratulations to the seven breeders, all of whom are well known to most active dog fanciers.
If it's hard to determine who's a good breeder, imagine how much more difficult it is to single out the best judges. However, I doubt that anyone could suggest a worthier recipient of AKC's Lifetime Achievement Award than Michele L. Billings, who will be awarded this honor on the occasion of her judging Best in Show at the AKC Invitational in Florida on Jan. 16, 2005. Congratulations!
