If the breeders of white Collies would breed from nothing but sound specimens free from Albino. Placing health and type first then color (instead of color regardless to type and health), the white Collie would advance more rapid with a more incouraging outlook than it now has in some kennels.

There are some kennels breeding from deaf studs, and even advertising them at public stud at a fancy fee. This is what is keeping the white Collie. Not only in this one kennel but others that may get deceived in such a stud. Every breeder should know this individual stud he is to use and should study his pedigree to know he is free from Albino ancestory, before mating with him as well as selecting females that are free from albino stock. With the present demand for "White all White” "Pure White” Collie it is a great temptation to sacrifice other points to meet the demand, by all means don’t sacrifice health.

It is my aim to keep albino stock out of my kennel. Breeding only from specimens that have no trace of albino, as far as I can study their predigree. I am proud to state, that I have not yet had an albino pup, and I do believe we breeders can stamp out these albino specimens, and improve our stock at the same time. I however shall breed with that idea as long as the Napoleon Kennels are run and I am in the race to stay.

Having just purchased a male pup of K.M.W. Tach, North Wilkesboro, N.C. I believe I have made one long step to the front. He is by Canuck ex Beauty, I believe them to be the most perfect type pair of the white Collies in America; their head type is what we white Collie breeders have so long looked for, and their pedigrees are far from albino. I am sure this puppy when matured will be a specimen hard to beat, and when mated to females such as "Napoleon White Lady,” "Napoleon White Princess,” Napoleon Trixie,” and other good ones in our kennels, quality will be easily seen, and albino specimens will be in other kennels instead of this one.

I would be pleased to have other breeders give their ideas in the breeding of the white Collie, as I do not claim to know it all, I am simply trying out my own ideas, which I believe are on the foundation stones of our favored breed.
