Q. What is the personality of the English Toy Spaniel and the Tibetan Spaniel like? Also, I would like to know the grooming requirements of these breeds.
A. The English Toy Spaniel and the Tibetan Spaniel are two favorite breeds of mine. They are charming little dogs, smart and fun but with a streak of oriental stubbornness and independence that makes living with them entertaining. Regular grooming is needed but it is not overwhelming. Comb and brush a few times weekly to keep them tangle free, clip nails, brush teeth, and clean their ears and large eyes.
Depending upon where you live, you might also want to trim their foot coat and the hair between their pads to improve their traction and prevent ice balls from forming in the winter.
