Chris M., owner of Marcus the Golden Retriever, had a grooming dilemma. His dog is a regular customer at my salon, but when the family goes to their New Hampshire lakefront house, his best friend gets into a stinky situation. “Marcus loves to swim,” Chris says. “When he comes out of the water, he rolls in pine needles and wood chips.”
The downside to owning one of these happy-go-lucky dogs is coat care. With silky golden tresses topping thick undercoats, they shed heavily, and love to get wet and dirty, resulting in tangles.
