For more than 50 years Lynn G. has owned German Shepherd Dogs, but when you ask her what’s special about them, she remembers the night she was sleeping at her home in Texas, and an intruder entered.
Mickey, then 8 years old, never hesitated. “As soon as the door opened, Mickey went straight from sleeping at the foot of my bed and flew to the door with a growl so deep, I knew it was an intruder, not my husband, Robert. The door had closed with Mickey’s weight, but he wouldn’t stop barking and growling until I opened the door to let him out after the man. I saw the man running through my living room and out the back door,” Lynn says.
