Don’t be intimidated by this little gladiator. The Stafford is a friendly dog.
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Coach is a multi-titled obedience and agility competitor. But that’s not all. As a certified therapy dog, he showed his special ability to connect with people the first time he visited a children’s rehabilitation center near his home in California.
“Coach and I went to the facility’s common room to meet a resident 14-year-old boy,” says Karyn D., a longtime Stafford owner. “The teen was surly and standoffish, but when he caught sight of Coach, he lit up and cried, ‘Oh, a little pit bull!’
“He got down on his knees to pet the dog, and Coach responded with enthusiastic licking and tail wagging, delighted to make a new friend.”
