Dulcie eyed the chair. On that cold winter day in Pennsylvania, it looked warm and inviting, but unfortunately contained a human. No matter. The freckle-faced, long-eared, droopy-eyed Basset Hound scratched mournfully at the back door, in need of a bathroom break -- or so her owner, Kitty Steidel, believed. As soon as the Basset Hound breeder and dog show judge got up to let Dulcie out into the backyard, the clever pet lumbered around the chair and jumped onto the pre-warmed cushions. Score one for the Basset Hound.
