The only thing Casey loved more than people was a ride on a boat. So whenever the friendly Irish Setter traveled with his family to their lake cabin in the mountains, Casey took the first opportunity to trot around the lake’s perimeter to the cottage colony on the other side. “He quickly figured out that if he visited the cottages, someone would be bound to say, ‘Hi Casey. Get in the boat and I’ll take you home,’” says Casey’s owner Connie Vanacore, an Irish Setter breeder from Mendham, N.J. “So, he’d hop in the boat and get a ride across the lake, jump off, and trot back up to the house.”

I think this article shows the true attitude and trainability of a Setter. A friend of mine owns one, and it seems like the most well behaved, gentle creature I've ever seen.
