DOG FANCY’s Working Canine Hero of the Year Contest

Honoring military, police and search-and-rescue service dogs.

For the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, DOG FANCY is proud to honor the noble American heroes: our military, police and search-and-rescue service dogs.

They serve side by side with American soldiers on the battlefield, work with police officers to detect drugs and bombs and track down criminals and assist rescue teams after major disasters by locating victims. If your working dog is the best in the land, we want to hear her story.

We will announce the DOG FANCY Working Canine Hero of the Year in our September issue.

Recently I entered 2 of our local canines in your "Working Canine Hero of the Year" contest. They are both very deserving and I hope they are being considered seriously. I do want to add that when I entered "Bosco" (police K-9 from Zanesville, Ohio police dept.) I neglected to acknowledge his picture as having been taken by Leonard Hill Photography, Ltd. in Zanesville. I hope this doesn't jeopardize Bosco's chance to be considered. I did not know until after I sent the application to you that it was taken by a photographer. The 2nd dog I entered was "Jeck" from Gallipolis, Ohio police dept.I also hope he will be seriously considered (photographer unknown - as I said, both are very deserving. I obtained both pix from the internet. Thank
Diane Charles
