My boxer is 12 years old and just sired his first liter of pups for us. He has been the center of our lives for so long we couldn't stand to lose him so here we go looking for his clone. The problem is the mom is mixed and unable to get breed she is beautiful so the pups are gorgeous. I can't tell which will look like boxers. Both adults are extremely smart they understand what I say even if I use a whole sentence instead of a simple comand. The pups are learning this behavoir already but they are 5 weeks old. Can anyone tell me what physical traits to look for the get the one most like a boxer.

Decks, my reversed brindle boxer has such a funny attitude, he's always happy and loves to be around me and other people. I have a picture on my iPod touch that says"boxers are more like funny cartoon characters rather than a dog." I just thought that ,that was cute.

my mom n her siblings grew up with three boxers and a boxer lab mix, names are duke egghead n dixiebell and cochise (indian tribe) and she said they are great with kids and adults of all ages sometimes i think about getting one because i have a two year daughter but other times i wonder about them because they have alot of energy and they can become dominant if not trained correctly and given a job. i have read where in germany during world war 2 the german soldiers used boxers as protection and guard dogs during the nazi invasion and it made me think is it okay to have a dog with that background around a young child. just like pit bulls and rottweilers and dobermans these dogs do have a bad reputation. i'd prefer a pit bull terrier over boxers any day they are alot easier to train and you dont have to worry about somebody taking your kids.
