German Shepherds are not cheap. Last night they were rated as costing between twenty to fifty thousand in this country to have a trained shepherd. The police depts are paying around twenty five to thirty thousand for a puppy that is half trained before the new handler starts his or her training with the dog. The military will pay fifty grand for a fully trained IED, Drug, rescue dog. Your best bet is hit the dog pounds. The dogs that the police and military use will not have leg or hip problems as they are not inbred like many animal mills are. If you find a shepherd in a pound take it to a vet and have him check and x-Ray the hips. Good luck.
