AKC to Hold Charity Brunch

Proceeds go to DOGNY, a public art initiative honoring search-and-rescue dogs.

The American Kennel Club is hosting a charity brunch, “Barkfest at Bonhams,” from 10 a.m. to noon, Feb 11, 2007, with proceeds benefiting an AKC charitable public art project.

The event raises money for DOGNY, a planned public art project honoring search-and-rescue dogs involved in post-September 11th operations. But Barkfest is also an opportunity to preview artwork that will be on display during a Feb. 13 auction.

The auction will feature works by artists who celebrate the friendship between dog and man.

Admission to the brunch is $50, with all the money going to DOGNY. Guests will receive a complimentary auction catalogue as well as a goody bag.

To reserve a spot at the brunch, call the AKC at (212) 696-8277. For more information on the sale, visit www.bonhams.com/dogs or www.akc.org.
