Benefit Concert to Aid Animal Disaster Victims

A portion of money raised goes toward helping animals affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The California-based animal protection organization In Defense of Animals is staging a benefit concert next month to raise money for animals affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The concert, hosted by TV personality Paula Abdul, is planned for Feb. 17, 2007 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, Calif.

The event will also launch IDA’s disaster relief fund to help animals in future disasters and help fund other IDA rescue operations throughout the world.

In addition to the musical performances, the event will include food, drinks and dancing.

Among the scheduled performers are Chuck Negron (of the band Three Dog Night), Howard Scott (from War), Jeff Pevar (from CPR), Stephen Bishop, Keaton Simmons, Robbie Dupree, Jaared and an “all-star house band of musicians,” according to In Defense of Animals.

IDA also promises surprise celebrity guest appearances.
