The ASPCA, Howell Book House and Borders, Inc. are putting out a call for compelling stories and photos of rescued pets for an upcoming book.
Anyone who shares their home with a formerly homeless, displaced or abused animal is invited to share their story for possible publication in a new book about how important pets are to people.
Winning entries will be published in “Hopeful Tails,” a compilation of rescue and adoption stories from around the United States.
“Nowhere is the human-animal bond as clearly demonstrated as in the stories of shelter pets finding homes. I can’t wait to read all the great stories I know we’re going to get,” said ASPCA President and CEO Ed Sayres.
Entries are being accepted now through March 31, 2007, at BordersPetProject.com. “Hopeful Tails” will be available this fall at all Borders and Waldenbooks stores. One dollar from every book sold through June 20, 2008, will be donated by Borders, Inc. to the ASPCA.
