Nick at Nite’s first annual Worldwide Fido Awards will salute real dogs in six categories including “Cutest Dog,” “Best Dressed,” “Best Voice,” “Most Outrageous,” “Best Trick” and “Dog/Owner Look-Alike.”

“This truly is the first award show of its kind,” said Marjorie Cohn, executive vice president, original programming and development at Nickelodeon, in a statement. “People are just crazy in love with their dogs, and pet videos are the second most watched videos on the Internet. A special programming event that showcases this user-generated content to celebrate the family dog is a perfect fit for us.”

Starting August 31, upload videos of your dog to the Worldwide Fido website. The top four dogs picked in each category by online voters will compete for a chance to travel to Los Angeles to vie for the best in their category and for the ultimate prize of Worldwide Fido 2008.

Dog trainer Tamar Geller, who has trained the dogs of Oprah Winfrey, Ben Affleck, Courteney Cox-Arquette, Nicollette Sheridan, Owen Wilson, Brad Paisley, and the Ozzy Osbourne family, will serve as one of the judges.

Hi,
I'm very excited about it because.....Jasmine,my golden retriever in tie dye,is one of the four finalist in the best dressed category!! She's 11 years old and still knows it's a special thing when she gets dressed up. She acts like she knows it's something Dog Mom and Dog Dad like. We love her so much!! We just refinanced our home so Jasmine could have some medical procedures that were very expensive. She's worth every penny. She's a happy and healthy girl. If you think she's the one that should win her category,PLEASE VOTE FOR
JASMINE!
Thank you,

Tina

Sounds cool! I want to watch it on tv! Tamer Geller must be pretty good since she trained BRAD PAISLEY'S dog!
