Pit Bull Saves Man From Burning Poplar Bluff Home
After a fire gutted a house and basement apartment Jacob Ford lived in last Friday, the 20-year-old Poplar Bluff, Mo., man said he’s thankful to be alive, and even more so for the dog he “never really paid any attention to.” Ford was awakened Friday by the persistent whining of a pit bull owned by his mother’s boyfriend, and knew something must be wrong, the Southeast Missourian reports.

Palm Springs City Council Votes to Unleash Ban on Dogs in Parks
Pups in parks will no longer be banned under a new law put in place by Palm Springs politicians Wednesday. Dogs are now allowed to play in city parks — as long as they are leashed and waste is picked up, The Palm Springs (Calif.) Desert Sun reports.

Missing Beagle Reunited With Family After Two Years
Cindia Witherow of El Dorado, Calif., had Tinkerbelle, a 9-month-old Beagle at the time, for a month before she went missing with her other female Beagle. The other Beagle was found shortly afterward when someone discovered her hurt and took her to the vet. The vet scanned the dog for a microchip and reunited Witherow with her pet. But Tinkerbelle was nowhere to be found, until now, the Corning Observer reports.
