Miley Cyrus’s 16th birthday won’t be until Nov. 23, but the “Hannah Montana” actress has already received her gift – a Maltese-Poodle mix named Sophie.
According to Disney, the dog was a surprise from her parents and is named after a dog owned by the star’s late grandfather.
“I’m so excited,” Cyrus told People at her private birthday party at Disneyland, which closed early for the bash.
Cyrus’s new boyfriend, Justin Gaston, as well as celebrities like Tyra Banks and David Archuleta attended the event. Gaston even joined Cyrus’s dad, Billy Ray, and older sister Brandi to sing the elder Cyrus’s hit “Achy Breaky Heart” for the crowd.
“This is the most amazing sweet 16 that a girl could have!” Cyrus said as she stepped on stage later to perform.
Cyrus called her blossoming relationship “great.” The party wrapped up with an elaborate fireworks display, but Cyrus was still raring to go. “It’s been a long night,” she said, “but I’m still ready to party and ride some rides!”
