L.A. County Settles Over Shelter Kill Policy
Animal advocates have reached an agreement with county animal control officials that requires shelters to hold cats and dogs who are not terminally ill for four days before euthanizing them. Under the agreement, signed this week by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James C. Chalfant, shelter officials must also notify rescuers which cats and dogs are slated to be put down, The Associated Press reports.
